Both glow in the dark posters are 24 x 36 inch screenprints with UV varnish and come in paired editions of 390. They will only be sold as sets and cost $90 for both.

Two of the most beautiful things I have seen. :)

Film, comic and gaming universes all gather on the same battlefield in Josip Kelava’s beautiful set of Hero / Villain typographic posters. (Detail Shots)

This little project is a showcase of all my favorite characters, both friendly and foe, as typographic posters representing a little of what they are about.” - Josip

I am such a geek for reblogging this, but they’re just so beautiful!

Background fixing

Background fixing is a technique in street photography wherein the photographer stays in one location and waits for something to happen that he/she can capture.

It’s either the patience will be rewarded with a unique photograph (i.e. the Zooming bike photo HCB took on top of the stairs) or 3 really boring photos like this one.

I’m really not a fan of background fixing. I just need to try it to see.

Dude, I miss you.

October 18 marks the 50th anniversary of West Side Story, the acclaimed musical about two star-crossed lovers in 1950s New York City and the racial prejudices that keep them apart. In honor of the occasion, LIFE.com takes a look back at the evolution of the show—which made its Broadway debut in 1957 and was adapted into an Oscar-winning movie in 1961—from stage to screen.

Happy New Year 2011
Have you heard about those one camera one lens projects? Try it, you might like it.
Make this the year you start bulk rolling your own film.
Even better get a darkroom set up and print again, or for the first time.
…oh yeah, and this year get that film camera you’ve been wanting.  Trust me.

John Sypal, you are the man.
I will try bulk loading and darkroom printing this year. That will be my photographic resolution.

2011 is the year to go back.

Photo of the Day: A commemorative tee from Dwayne’s Photo in Parsons, Kansas — the last lab in the world capable of processing Kodachrome film — where, today, the last roll of “the world’s first commercially successful color film” was developed, bringing an era to a close.
[h/t: mashable / photo: nyt.]
Earlier: 1922 Kodachrome Film Test.

This is sad.
I’m a big fan of film.
Not as big as my photo-friend AG, but nonetheless, this brings pain to my chest and water to my eyes.
And to think I have never used Kodachrome yet (I think).
